CMUH has established good cooperation with neighboring medical institutions, including transfer, referral laboratory, physician training, physician support, and academic support. CMUH also cooperates with the health policy in promoting “family physician system” to extend medical care through household health management, 24-hour consulting and emergency healthcare, transfer assistance, and home care and diagnosis.

CMUH has been participating in the Health Building Program from the Bureau of National Health since 2000. Currently CMUH undertakes the “Elite Community Health Living Program” in northern district of Taichung City in addition to counseling the community hospital with promoting “Ankan Community Health Building Project” in east district, integrating community organizations and groups to conduct community health evaluation and health promotion projects collectively.

To provide patients with continuous care after discharge from the hospital, CMUH sets up the home nursing and nursing home. CMUH also offers the evaluation of discharge preparation service requirement and subsequent hospital transfer, home or long-term care institution services to inpatients. For the medical cooperation established between CMUH and the community long-term care institution, the physicians regularly provide mobile diagnosis to long-term care patients at the institutions. Additionally, CMUH also cooperates with the Department of Public Health, Taichung City, to routinely hold “Advanced Class for Disability Elderly Family Caregiver Training” for caregivers of family of disabled elderly, improving the care knowledge and skills of family caregiver to disabled elderly.

As population ages and chronicle diseases increase rapidly, preventive medicine becomes the key science and CMUH has established the Preventive Medicine Center following the medical movement in attempt to provide the community people with the best preventive medical and professional services.

CMUH Preventive Medicine Center will continue to promote community health building, integrate medical resources vertically, concurrently build comprehensive medical resource network, establish quality health examination center, promote Cross-strait international medical tourism health examination, and developing geriatrics, long-term care, health business, and conducting digital care and health related services and research to fully move toward the top-notch Preventive Medicine Center in Taiwan

China Medical University Hospital owns intensified and superior special discipline and sub-discipline training program that attract foreign physicians for in-hospital training. The visiting fellow system of CMUH offers distinguished research fellow abroad with the opportunity for cooperation in CMUH. Under possible circumstances, CMUH assists university hospitals in Asian countries to conduct medical, instructional and research improvement.

CMUH upholds to doctors without borders and borderless service by cooperating with the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) to found the “Mobile Medicare Team,” providing care work for international humanitarian aid and improvement on health and medical environment. CMUH dispatches CMUH specialized physician, registered nurse and pharmacists as well as other professional medical staff by the requirement of service area to bring the medical technology and love of Taiwan to all corners worldwide in need of help.
