Since 1996, under the policy-based leadership of the Department of Health’s Chinese medicine committee and the Taiwan Medical Association, as well as with the commitment by several medical centers (e.g., CMUH, Chang Gung, Chi Mei, Tzu Chi, Tri-Service General Hospital, Veterans General Hospital, and Taipei City Hospital) and more than 30 hospitals with the department (division) of Chinese medicine, the development of traditional Chinese medicine has been greatly valued and recognized, and Chinese medicine associations has been formed one after another for the purpose of actively promoting in-service education and professional training.
The first medical society among Chinese medicine specialties, the Association of Chinese Traumatology was founded in CMUH on October 21, 1996, with the first chairman being hospital director Sheng-hsien Wu. We will adhere to the belief as specialists and continue to run training programs and facilitate its development, so as to perfect the education and research system of Chinese medicine.
