Chinese Diagnostics Medicine

Department Introduction

It is over three decades since the hospital's Chinese Medicine Diagnostics Division was set up in 1987. The judgment of clinical doctors of Chinese medicine is primarily based on Chinese medicine diagnosis, with the main contents being the four methods of diagnosis and the eight principal syndromes. The former consist of observation, auscultation and olfaction, interrogation, and pulse feeling and palpation, while the latter comprise yin and yang, exterior and interior, cold and heat, and hypofunction and hyperfunction.

The studies of the modernization of the four diagnostic methods are the inevitable direction of the scientific development of Chinese medicine. At present, both Chinese medicine scholars and medical engineering experts from Taiwan or China have been carrying out this arduous project in different directions.

On the basis of Chinese internal medicine, it has promoted the integration of clinical care and Chinese medicine inspection instruments, which aims to design the product meeting clinical needs the most to serve as a diagnostic aid for Chinese medicine clinicians, help patients gain the most accurate medical treatment, and promote Chinese medicine precise education. It not only inherits the basic spirit of orthodox Chinese medicine, passes on the precious experience of ancient and modern sages, and gathers its essence and discards its dregs but also gains new knowledge about Western medical science and technology, in an effort to achieve the modernization of Chinese medicine and the goal of the unification of Chinese and Western medicine. Nowadays, with the concerted efforts of all doctors, it has been put on the right track and institutionalized. In recent years, various case seminars, joint seminars on Chinese and Western medicine, and clinical academic seminars have transformed the past patterns of the Chinese medicine mentoring system and established modern medical and teaching models.

The division staff has been dedicated to the development and integration of traditional medicine with enthusiasm, ideals, and aspirations as well as the spirit of struggle and innovation, for the purpose of developing Chinese medicine into a new modern medicine in the world.
