Operative Guidelines for Outpatient General Anesthesia 門診全身麻醉術後注意事項

Wound Precautions
  • Wound Care :
  • Dressing Change :            Times/Day
  • No dressing needed and wound can be treated upon return visit ( only change dressing when the wound is wet or stained ).
  • For the disinfectant around the surgical wound, please use the towel dampened in lukewarm water to wipe clean.
  • Observe for any bleeding or inflammation, and infection to keep the wound clean and dry.
  • Patients are not prohibited of post-operative activities but should avoid intense exercise or lifting heavy objects that will prevent wound healing.
  • Patients are advised to take deep breathing and coughing after the operation in order to promote lung dilation and wound pain alleviation.
  • After urinating for the first time, please remove the covered gauze and use boiled water that has been cooled to rinse the wound, after using the bathroom each time. Then apply the ointment ( the wound is near the urinary tract ).
  • Time for patients to remove the gauze from the vaginal after gynecological operation:
  • Please remove the gauze from the vaginal at         A.M./P.M. in the  □ Morning   □ Afternoon    □Evening. (The patients may experience minor bleeding and will recovery in few days, which is a normal process.)
  • Do not engage in sexual intercourse; perform vaginal lavage, and vaginal tablet when bleeding or 2 weeks after the operation.
  • Patients may not talk for 5 days after the vocal cord operation. In 2 weeks after the operation, the patients should avoid talking loudly, singing and talking too much.
  • Please choose cold, soft or liquid food. Avoid stimulating food, particularly smoking and drinking.

Meal Time

 □ Morning    □ Afternoon    □ Evening           Hour           Minute

  • In 1 hour after discharge from the hospital, please drink 50 ~ 100 c.c of water to observe for 5~10 minutes. The patients may start eating if no nausea or vomiting. In case of minor nausea or vomiting, please rest for 30 minutes before drinking water again. The patients may start eating only when not experiencing any discomfort.

Precautions for Medication at Home

  • Please use the analgesia under physician instruction to effectively improve the pain. Do not take any sedation without the permission from the physician in 24 hours.

  • Please pay at the cashier on the first floor before dispensing medicine at the Dispensary.
  • Children should dispense medicine at the Dispensary after paying at the cashier on the first floor of Children’s Hospital Building.
  • Oral Medication ( please follow the instruction and precaution on the medication label )
  • External Use (please follow the instruction and precaution on the medication label)

Next Return Visit

  • Please see return visit form.
  • Please re-visit the hospital for follow-up according to the scheduled hours with the physician. Please make your own registration if no reserved registration has been made. Please call the reserved registration phone number ( 04 ) 22012060 ( Voice Number ).

Special Precautions

  • In case of the following condition, please seek for medical assistance immediately:
  • Severe pain.
  • Large bleeding or swelling on the wound, fester and breach.
  • Fever over 38 ℃.
  • After 12 hours from receiving sedation and analgesia care, the sedation effect could still exist:
  • Do not ride scooter or drive.
  • Do not fill out or sign on important documents.
  • The patient must be attended to prevent accident.
  • Children could still experience the sedation effect in 24 hours from receiving the sedation and analgesia care and must be assisted for care.
