CMUH uses medical service to make worldwide friendships, Chairman Tsai warmly welcomes the Governor during this first visit
Chairman Chang-Hai Tsai surprised the governor by giving him a gift, a majestic azure stone ox sculpture based on the governor's Chinese zodiac sign. Chairman Chang-Hai stated that the China Medical University and Medical System developed by leaps and bounds in recent years, taking care of patients from both Taiwan and abroad and providing borderless medical care – “We befriend the world through medical service and welcome patients from Guam and the world to visit us to experience Taiwan's international level of medical service and compassion”. Superintendent De-Yang Zhou stated that CMUH is a patient-oriented hospital, where superior medical technology and services are in step with the rest of the world, making it a top choice hospital for people from Guam.

The delegation led by Governor Calvo included The Guam Economic Development Authority Jay Rojas, Guam Visitors Bureau Board Chairman Milton Morinaga, Guam Economic Development Authority Tria Paulino and many others. Governor Calvo felt that it was very considerate of CMUH's International Center to have a section on the center's website with the designation “For Guam”. CMUH is certified by Joint Commission International (JCI) and is the only sister-hospital in Taiwan with MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States. The delegation was very grateful and satisfied with the high-quality medical services provided to patients from Guam.

Full-service medical care that appeals to the medical needs of Guam
CMUH's International Center Deputy Superintendent Tzu-Liang Chen introduced the developments and features of CMUH, in addition to leading the delegation to visit the Health Examination Center. Deputy Superintendent Tzu-Liang Chen stated that many people from Guam have received treatment at CMUH and have been extremely happy with the care; free airport pickup services are also provided when visiting CMUH. CMUH accepts many major insurances from Guam and closely collaborates with local medical clinics in Guam, with medical consultation obtained from Guam physicians prior to surgery and then resuming care after discharge from the hospital and returning home. This considerate full-service medical care provides the people of Guam with the best medical quality and service.

After two years of planning, Governor Calvo and his delegation were finally able to visit. International Center Chief Executive Officer Ai-Chi Chou, who dedicated much of her time to arranging the visit, expressed that, in spite of some bumps in the road, “everything was for the best”. CEO Chou was pleased that Governor Calvo was quite satisfied and impressed with the medical technology and superior services at CMUH. This visit not only successfully marketed the CMUH brand and Taiwan's medical services, but also served as a successful diplomatic exchange.
