The Social Work Office provides patients and patients' families and community residents with professional social work services, including case work, support groups, community resource development, voluntary service groups, social welfare consultation, teaching and research, administrative work (e.g. disability authentication), and service desk business, in addition to participating in the operation of various medical teams.
On top of clinical case services, it will continue to comply with national health and welfare policy, promote long-term care, domestic violence and sexual assault prevention, suicide prevention, organ donation, crime victims protection , terminally ill patients consultation, and other key services, as well as organize support groups to develop into patient self-help groups and further multiple voluntary services.
It is staffed with 20 full-time social workers and 11 clerks for the management and training of voluntary services in addition to the promotion of the above work. Among the volunteers in the volunteer team, there are about 350 functioning members of society and it is also open to high school students or above for service and learning. The volunteers are properly assigned to the outpatient clinics, the emergency room, and wards for giving the patients and their families a friendly assistance.

To assist patients and their families in dealing with the social, psychological, family, and economic problems related to the disease in an effort to promote the medical effect, pursuant to hospital policy and through professional knowledge and skills of social work.
