Department Introduction

(Positron Emission Tomography, PET Center)。China Medical University Hospital’s (CMUH) Nuclear Medicine Division began to be built since August 1992. It was officially founded in July 1993 and was opened in August of the same year. In order to provide higher quality medical services in the central region, cancer prevention and imaging diagnosis device Positron Emission Tomography (PET) was introduced in May 2002, and the PET Center was officially established.

Regarding angiography devices, we have two single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scanners/computed tomography (CT) scanners and two PET scanners/CT scanners.

The division is currently staffed with a total of 18 members: seven doctors (including a chief doctor, two  attending physicians, and four resident doctors), six radiologists, three nurses, one nuclear medicine pharmacist, and one administrative assistant.

The division has been working to strengthen the research on the diagnosis and technology of nuclear medicine in an effort to improve the quality of medical services. In conjunction with the establishment of the picture archiving and communication system (PACS) in the hospital to save manpower, time, and materials, the staff members can gain ready access to images by computer at any time. All colleagues of the division will also adhere to consistent innovation and progress, and continue to work hard to offer more valuable information for clinicians and provide patients with updated inspection technology and more perfect services.
